How UPINOW works and the four steps to set up your account.
On this page
How it works
Three things happen every time a customer pays you.
- You create a payment link or QR code for an amount.
- The customer pays with any UPI app straight into your UPI ID. The money never passes through UPINOW.
- Your bank sends a payment alert email. UPINOW reads it, matches it to the right order, and stamps it PAID, usually within seconds.
Set up in four steps
Finish these once and you are ready to get paid.
- Add your UPI ID. The UPI ID your customers will pay into.
- Connect Gmail alerts. The Gmail address where your bank's payment alert lands.
- Confirm the alert sender. The exact "From" address UPINOW should trust.
- Test with ₹1. Send yourself ₹1 and watch the PAID stamp appear.
You can select "Skip for now" on any step and come back later. Home keeps reminding you until setup is done.
What you need
- A UPI ID with PhonePe Business, Paytm Business, Google Pay Business, a Bank UPI ID, or Other (any UPI ID works).
- The Gmail address where your bank or UPI app sends payment alerts.
- 2-Step Verification turned on for that Google account, needed for the App Password in Connect your Gmail alerts.
Money never passes through UPINOW: it goes straight from your customer's UPI app to your own bank account. UPINOW will never ask for your UPI PIN, OTP or bank password.
